Project Overview

One2One is a feature-rich community platform designed to connect people with trusted local businesses through social engagement and recommendations. Users can create public or anonymous posts, comment, bump discussions, save posts, search content, follow business categories, discover nearby businesses, and maintain their own personalized space. The platform also includes detailed business profiles with galleries, contact information, websites, and category-based discovery. A recommendation engine highlights top reviewers and suggested businesses, encouraging community participation. On the administration side, a comprehensive dashboard allows administrators to manage users, business directories, sub-categories, businesses, topics, posts, reviewers, and platform content. The application was built with scalability, performance, and maintainability in mind, leveraging Redis caching, AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub-based deployments.

The Challenges

Challenges Designing a platform that combines social networking with business discovery. Building a scalable directory structure consisting of Directories, Sub-Directories, Topics, and Businesses. Implementing efficient search functionality across users, businesses, and posts. Managing complex user interactions such as posts, comments, saved posts, anonymous posting, follows, and recommendations. Optimizing performance for large datasets and frequently accessed content. Creating an intuitive admin panel capable of managing all platform entities from a single interface.

What I Did

Developed a modular Laravel architecture to keep business logic clean and maintainable. Built a complete social interaction system including posting, commenting, bookmarking, sharing, and community engagement. Implemented category-based business discovery with detailed business profiles and galleries. Used Redis caching to reduce database load and improve application responsiveness. Automated deployments through GitHub and CI/CD pipelines hosted on AWS infrastructure. Created an extensible administration portal for managing users, businesses, content, reviewers, and platform settings.

The Outcome

Delivered a centralized platform that connects users with trusted local businesses through community recommendations. Simplified business discovery using categorized directories and intelligent search. Increased user engagement through social interactions, saved posts, and follow functionality. Reduced administrative effort by providing a comprehensive management dashboard. Built an architecture capable of supporting future feature expansion and higher user traffic.
