Berger Hardware – Magento 2
Project Overview
Berger is a Canadian hardware and industrial supplies retailer running on Magento 2.4.6-p2. The project focused on improving the frontend experience while maintaining compatibility with the existing architecture.
The primary objective was to enhance the responsiveness of the Product Listing and Product Detail pages across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. In addition, I developed two promotional CMS landing pages directly from the provided Figma designs, featuring dynamic product carousels driven by custom business rules.
Instead of modifying the existing third-party navigation module directly, I extended and overridden its functionality through a custom Magento module. Vendor customizations were moved into the theme layer wherever appropriate, resulting in cleaner, maintainable, and upgrade-friendly code that aligned with Magento development best practices.
The project was delivered successfully within a week, and the client was satisfied with both the implementation quality and turnaround time.
